Reviewing the new McDonalds products one bite at a time

Dream Team Sharebox

on June 8, 2012

So today I got to try the dream team Sharebox which consists of ten chicken nuggets and ten onion rings,

This is mainly going to be focusing on the onion rings but there will be a short mention of the mixture of chicken nuggets.

So I am partial to some onion rings every now and then so it was a nice surprise to have onion rings on the menu. So I got myself a share box. First look they were fairly crispy with a deep brown colour. Possibly overcooked because pictures show them quite light coloured but it wasn’t the end of the world. I had about 5 big onion rings and 5 disappointingly small ones. The big ones were similarly like the onions rings you used to get from TGI Fridays. They were fairly crispy but quite light in the middle which made for quite a nice combination.

Despite them being nice and unique for McDonald’s I don’t see them being around past the summer or even the conclusion of this promotion unfortunately.

Now for the mixture with the nuggets. I love the 20 nugget box it is truly great to share with a meal. But this is definitely good to. It is a good combination and adds a bit of variation.

A nice addition so a cheeky 7/10 for the onion rings!

How great is it that the starburst milkshake is still around?!?!

McDonalds have been doing onion rings as a promo item for years now.

  2. My mistake sorry. Still enjoyable nonetheless!

Excellent review! I had one of these today and, like you, thought that the combination of nuggets and onion rings made for a very yummy platter. I especially liked the onion rings with the sweet chilli sauce (although I alternated with barbecue when it got a bit spicy). I thought that the nuggets went better with the sweet & sour sauce, so appreciated that I got to choose four different dips per box. 🙂
